But....How long does the battery last? Where could I get that magnets? Thanks from Spain!

The current is very high, so the battery can be killed in a matter of a few minutes. But, it's worth it. =) I don't happen to know any sources of magnets like these in spain, but there are a lot of different sources, and many will ship internationally. Search for "Rare earth magnets" or "Neodymium magnets" and pick a set of *shiny* cylindrical magnets. (Some have a rubber or paint coating, and will not work-- you need the shiny, conductive exterior.)

i've seen the explanation on how this works in your website "evilmadscientist article.php SimpleMHD". the last two pictures show the direction of force pointing AWAY. but F = Il x B. if you cross the direction of the current with the direction of the magnetic field, the force should point TOWARDS

And if the magnet is upside down then flip the direction....

I try this but it doesnt seem to work. I try it without the screw, and the wire still gets hot, so the battery still has some juice. Do you have any suggestions?

You say the wire *still* gets hot, so electricity must be flowing when you do have the screw in place. All that I can think is that your magnet isn't the right type. Make sure (1) that it's a neodymium disk magnet with a conductive metal coating (2) that it is a strong magnet (not demagnetized) (3) polarized through the symmetry axis of the disk. And try a new battery anyway, just in case.
