There are paid holidays for some, perhaps most, Americans, but 6 weeks of paid "annual leave" (called "vacation" in the U.S.) is EXTREMELY rare, if in fact, it exists at all. I can't recall anyone I've known who has EVER had 6 weeks vacation time. Certainly not an employee. I've heard of 3 week vacations, but that is EXTREMLY rare.
