rulllar  2008-02-26 06:14:59 as for the rabbis - there was support for zionism that was withdrawan when they realized the intention was a secular state. it was a religious/secular conflict as much as from arguing against Israel's need to exist. In any case, this generations rabbis believe in Israel's right to exist with only a few exceptions, whether they are zionist or not. You mentioned Jonathan Sacks and said how can one argue with someone so prominent? he is a VERY strong support of Israel's existence. __________________________________________________

Strange that those who lived in arab lands are in parties that least trust the arab intentions. Also, there are not a small number of documentated cases of Jews expressing suffering under Islam, including in the early empires (the so-called golden age). __________________________________________________
