Himasas ::: Favorites 2007-12-18 07:30:35 Obviously, if music is played in an 'unadulterated' form then this is a black and white case for copyright infringement, but I can't see any copyright problem to playing commercial music as a background for a narrative. You are destroying the original music content by overwriting with voice, therefore if a viewer enjoys what they hear from the musical background they may want to get the original, couldn't this be seen as a form of free advertising for the publisher/performer? __________________________________________________
saifu420 ::: Favorites 2007-12-16 14:16:19 i got a microphone and a chimpanzee with symbols, the music just writes itself __________________________________________________
MomAngel7 ::: Favorites 2007-11-29 22:46:23 I'm going to record my own music- covers and writing my own- I'm not a contender as a musician- but at least it will be original. __________________________________________________
tlg847 ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 17:27:13 Oh yeah, cya, for sure. __________________________________________________
tlg847 ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 17:26:32 I think Limewire is definitely a danger zone if you're worried about DMCA takedown notices; i.e., illegal. Karaoke? That, I don't know about. __________________________________________________
tlg847 ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 17:24:51 Great suggestions came up in the comments, didn't they? __________________________________________________
beerbellycomedy ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 15:55:47 its true like i ant a big tuber so i aint been told take vid down but its got some music in most "famous" youtubers will go myspace and ask musicans for music. cya __________________________________________________
foliatedchicken ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 14:08:36 Yeah that is an issue, Limewire is practicly illegal and if you buy a song you can't really use it right? It's like some sort of giant loop. btw the only music i can get my hands on is tracks(you know the ones that don't have any lyrics but are famous for their lyrics like We Didin't Start the Fire over kareoke places on the internet) __________________________________________________

sarrycrey ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 12:48:57 GarageBand dot com. So many genres and so many different sounds to choose from :) __________________________________________________
MrRay47 ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 01:01:37 A wide range of companies pay big buck for product placements in commercial films and some of them may very well get fewer viewers than a YT video. Record companies have historically paid radio stations to play their music. I'm at a loss as to why a song playing on a radio in a movie and a song playing on the radio are so much different from a song in the background of a YT video. It's just not rational. aloha :) __________________________________________________
tlg847 ::: Favorites 2007-11-27 23:12:40 I really like your idea. A copyright approval machine is a terrific way to think about this. Any one of us is too insignificant, and the process too daunting, to do this alone. But together... Thanks! __________________________________________________
VegtableFRUITMan ::: Favorites 2007-11-27 23:06:16 Where there is a will there is a way Lets all invent a copyright approval machine that allows a youtube user to actually get either permission or denial from the copyright owners themselves of songs and/or images. We need to redefine a credit system like what you did at the end of your movie. OMG you gave us the answer in a way. __________________________________________________ |
