My grandparents on both my mother's and father's side left Finland in the early 1900s they settled in northern Wisconsin because it reminded them of their home in Finland. | finndev ::: Favorites 2007-06-07 17:19:19 I speak so little Finnish now - I learned Finnish when I was very young and there were mostly Finns living in the area where I grew up. My parents wanted us to speak English, so they always spoke English at home. Now that I've moved from Wisconsin to California, I have a hard time finding anyone who is Finn - and most don't speak Finnish. It's sad because none of the kids learn to speak Finn anymore. __________________________________________________ | |
