juleofdenial ::: Favorites Americans think the danger is terrorism. They don't understand that Terrorists cannot take away habeus corpus, the Bill of Rights, the Constitution. Terrorists cannot suspend the Constitutional Government, abolish the Separation of Powers. TERRORISM CANNOT PICK US UP, SHUT US UP, OR ARREST US. The threat of terrorism is nothing like the THREAT of OUR OWN GOVERNMENT in the name of fighting terrorism. - Paul Craig Roberts "the Father of Reaganomics". 07-08-26 13:04:57 __________________________________________________
22cmonkey22 ::: Favorites Today on Cmonkey Theater: Watch "Money, Banking and the Federal Reserve" at google video Good Luck America 07-08-26 12:40:57 __________________________________________________
bluenote71 ::: Favorites Perhaps it's paranoid for me to consider it, but would we retreat from Iraq now in order to save the army for Iran? 07-08-26 11:50:25 __________________________________________________
JixMa ::: Favorites [3] They can even have LAN-parties that can connect up to a dozen soldiers to train as a squad to go out on search and destroy missions. I've even seen the wraparound simulator where the soldier is inside a sort of Holodeck (from Star Trek:TNG) where he stands in the center of the room and virtually walks through his environment. He even has a modified M-16 that is attached to compressed air which gives a kickback on the weapon when it's fired -- further creating a real-life experience! 07-08-26 10:48:13 __________________________________________________
JixMa ::: Favorites [2] These 3-D first-person shooters were developed by the U.S. Army first as recruitment lures. They are a heck of a lot more than simple marksmanship trainers. They're full 3-D immersive environments of urban centers so as to acclimate and desensitize the soldier to have an easier time having to kill civilians. Here's a quote from the article: <i>"And I can make it look like a PC game, that the average 19, 20-year-old rifleman or combatant right now grew up playing." 07-08-26 10:47:33 __________________________________________________
JixMa ::: Favorites [1] nholt769, so I'm just stating BS, as you put it, eh? Then I guess so is the BBC, huh? Read the whole article below, <i>EVERYONE</i> seeing this post, and tell us who the bullshitter is. news.bbc(.)co(.)uk/2/hi/technology/4460082(.)stm (take out ( ) in URL) So, sir, <i>YOU'RE</i> stating the BS around here! Does <b><i>"America's Army" </b></i> and <b><i>"Full Spectrum Warrior"</b></i> ring any bells for you, Mr. nholt769? Or are you a deliberate <i>LIAR</i>? 07-08-26 10:43:32 __________________________________________________

JixMa ::: Favorites [2] Then there's Abu-Ghraib. You Army boys are REAL professional, aren't you? You really respect the Geneva Conventions and the Rules Of Engagement! 07-08-26 09:03:28 __________________________________________________
JixMa ::: Favorites [1] nholt769n, then how do you explain the massacres of civilians when a convoy of HUM-Vs was fired upon from someone in a neighborhood, and the soldiers lost all control and went in house to house and started killing EVERYONE indiscriminately? How about the Pat Tillman's murder by a pissed off fellow soldier that lost his temper and shot at Tillman in anger after Tillman was rebuking him for his cowardice? 07-08-26 09:02:30 __________________________________________________
JixMa ::: Favorites Yes, I've felt this way for years now. Many science fiction stories portray a future where society is divided into the elite few, enjoying life in their security-protected futuristic high-rises; and the unwashed masses eking out a living looking through the landfills for food and other necessities. Very sad. 07-08-26 08:50:59 __________________________________________________ |
